3D@Home's Cube is a pre-assembled 3D printer aimed at home and hobby consumers.
The Cube functions much like MakerBot's Thing-O-Matic, fed by a spool of plastic: ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) available in a variety of cheerful colors, however the Cube printer looks quite different, sporting a friendly-looking plastic chassis.
Like Makerbot's Thingiverse, 3D@Home are developing a community Web site for hosting Cube designs called Cubify. The Cube uses .STL design files.
Cubify site also offers a 3D printing service, like Sculpteo, allowing you to place an order for 3D@Home to print and ship out objects.
The Cube retails for around $1,299.
